Baldvin Hlynsson

Baldvin Hlynsson is an Icelandic songwriter and artist development producer, known for collaborating closely with emerging talent finding and nurturing their sonic identity. Collaborations include Kristín Sesselja and Hera Lind from Iceland, as well as Camryn Quinlan (New York, USA), Sofia Kay (Toronto, Canada), Rocco & Frankie (Dallas, USA), and Julie Kuhl (Frankfurt, Germany).

Baldvin has also produced, written, arranged, and performed with many of Iceland’s most beloved artists including Una Torfa, Jóhanna Guðrún, ÁSDÍS, and Mugison. In 2024, two of his records hit #1 on Iceland’s biggest radio charts (Rás 2, Bylgjan, and X-ið).

With a strong focus on storytelling, Baldvin blends emotion, profound production and musicality into a seamless whole. A graduate of the Royal College of Music in Stockholm with a BA in Jazz Piano, he was named Newcomer of the Year in Jazz & Blues at the 2017 Icelandic Music Awards.

Celebrated for his deep musical instincts and modern production style, Baldvin has become a sought-after collaborator globally with current projects in London, Miami, Thailand and more.
