Elín Hall

Elín Hall is a critically acclaimed Icelandic-Canadian artist creating cinematic alternative pop rooted in emotional honesty, vivid storytelling and a deep sense of place. Raised between Montréal and Reykjavík, her songwriting explores intimacy, grief, desire, identity and the tension between belonging and distance.

Hall emerged as one of Iceland’s most distinctive musical voices through deeply personal songwriting, pairing literary lyricism with expansive, cinematic production. Her acclaimed album heyrist í mér? was named Album of the Year at the Reykjavík Grapevine Music Awards and produced three #1 radio singles.

Her work in music runs alongside an acclaimed acting career. Hall’s lead performance in When the Light Breaks, which opened Un Certain Regard at the Cannes Film Festival, earned her the Silver Hugo for Best Actress at the Chicago International Film Festival and Iceland’s Edda Award for Best Leading Actress. She was subsequently selected as a 2025 European Shooting Star and won a second Edda Award in 2026 for her portrayal of a young Vigdís Finnbogadóttir. Hall is now preparing her first English-language album, developed with GRAMMY-winning producer Martin Terefe at London’s historic Eastcote Studios. Her international music career has expanded through performances at Eurosonic Noorderslag, The Great Escape, NXNE and WFNM in Los Angeles, alongside performances with Laufey, YUNGBLUD and The Smashing Pumpkins. Her Eurosonic appearance earned a four-star review from Rolling Stone Germany.
