Baldvin Hlynsson hosts Julie Kuhl for an Intimate GLITSKÝ Session in Reykjavík
Frankfurt singer-songwriter Julie Kuhl came to Reykjavík to complete her forthcoming album with Icelandic producer and songwriter Baldvin Hlynsson, following their first collaboration in Los Angeles.
During her time in Iceland, GLITSKÝ hosted an intimate evening with Julie at Röntgen, where she performed a selection of her most cherished songs alongside new material, joined by her brother Lasse Kuhl. Baldvin also joined Julie for a special performance.
Born in 2005, Julie has quickly established herself as one of Germany’s most distinctive emerging voices, blending intimate indie songwriting with soulful, jazz-tinged arrangements. Her music has been featured regularly by KCRW Los Angeles, following her discovery by influential music programmer Chris Douridas.
Julie’s profile grew internationally following her performance around the opening of UEFA Euro 2024, while in 2025 she opened for Jamie Cullum on his German tour, performing in Cologne, Dresden, Gelsenkirchen and Munich.
Her Reykjavík visit marks another chapter in the growing creative relationship between Julie and Baldvin — and an opportunity to introduce an exciting new international voice to audiences in Iceland.
